Type of Position: Permanent, full time

Job Duties:
• Read, understand, and comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Read engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications to be performed, layout, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
• Operate light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses, including computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.
• Operate computerized laser or plasma cutting equipment to cut sheet metal.
• Use crane, rigging and hoisting equipment to lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in steel processing, fitting, and welding.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or lift truck.
• Attaches rope or grappling equipment to work pieces to prepare work piece for moving by crane or jib.
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, steel processing, or shipping.
• Inspect product quality to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Removes scrap from work areas.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Performs other routine duties as directed by supervision.
• Follows the Problem Identification Protocol (PIP) for issues that arise during job progress.

Experience Required:
• Experience working in a steel fabrication setting is a great asset.

Education Required:
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Wage & Hours: $25.50 / h
• Number of hours per day: 8
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 44
• Shift rotation: D/S / A/S
