We are a family of two full-time healthcare professionals seeking a dedicated and responsible Home Child Care Provider to provide exceptional care for our two young children in our home in Vancouver, BC. We are looking for someone who is calm, nurturing, flexible, and experienced in providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for young children. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, attentive, energetic, and committed to fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere for children. Excellent communication and proactiveness is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
Supervise and ensure the safety of the children at all times
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment in the home
Provide attentive and age-appropriate care for a toddler and an infant
Prepare and serve nutritious meals/snacks, and assist with feeding and hygiene
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Maintain routines including naps, playtime, and educational activities
Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Educate children through interactive play, storytelling, and educational games
Support emotional well-being and social development of the children
Accompany children to and from school, activities or appointments as needed
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
Follow family’s parenting philosophy and approach to discipline
Work Schedule
20-30 hours per week
Hours may vary – including days, evenings and weekends, depending on our healthcare work schedules
A minimum of 3 months’ notice will be provided for the work schedule
Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school required; Completion of college/university required; ECE (Early Childhood Education) certification
Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of experience caring for infants and young children in a daycare type setting or as an employed caregiver/nanny
Certificates and Licences: Valid CPR and First Aid; Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
Security & Safety: Clean criminal record check and previous job references required
