About Us:

Sea Power Marine Centre is a full-service boat repair, service, and parts company that has been operating in Sidney for over 45 years. We maintain and service all marine systems, from engines to advanced electronics. Our Engine Repair and Maintenance department services all makes and models of marine inboard, outboard, diesel, and gas engines, with a strong specialization in Volvo Penta engines.

In addition to mechanical services, we work with leading marine electronic brands to provide navigation, communication, and electrical system solutions. Sea Power is also a proud authorized dealer for Mercury, Caterpillar, Volvo Penta, and Kabola,

With two locations and a sister company, our team of 30 employees includes experienced marine technicians, parts specialists, and office staff dedicated to delivering exceptional service to boaters.

Main Duties:

Outboard and Inboard engines
Adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts and components using hand tools and equipment
Repair or replace electrical wiring, plumbing, propane gas lines in commercial and pleasure vessels
Install, service, and repair marine water systems, including watermakers, heating systems, and related components
Conduct diagnostic evaluations and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues
Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably
Collaborate with clients to assess system requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
Coordinate with office staff to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Capable of reading and interpreting technical manuals as well as creating schematics as required
Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and parts list
Stay current on marine technologies, best practices, and industry standards
Work with marine electronics, wiring, navigation, and communication systems

Education:

Completion of secondary school
Marine Service Technician Certificate from Quadrant Marine Institute → or the ability to challenge (Skill Trades BC Exam through Quadrant)
Proficiency in both marine electrical and mechanical systems
