Job Duties:
• Follow the safety processes and LOCK OUT procedures for the facility.
• Remove green lumber from crane when required and place on carts for Kiln #3 charge or place in field storage areas until required to fill a kiln charge.
• Place cants on ground in correct locations and ensure proper bundle spacing for green lumber storage following minimum quality standards for rough lumber yard.
• Stack lumber or down stack lumber before and after kiln drying times are complete.
• Lay carts with proper cant placement and bring bundles to be placed on Roll Case based on lumber sizes and lengths required.
• Pick up and place unused cants onto one of many carts. Dispose of any broken cants into appropriate garbage bins.
• Help kiln operators when able and when needed.
• Operate Tulsa winch to load and unload kilns when needed to aid kiln operators.
• Report to supervisor or lead hand the need for any repairs required on equipment.
• Report any damages to equipment to yard supervisor or lead hand.
• Recognize potential equipment hazards, use material transportation tools and lumber related operations.
• Required to complete appropriate daily preoperational checklist before operating any piece of equipment.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to mill yard traffic management policy.
• Clean and organizes the work area, remove waste from kilns at the end of the process.
• Help with new hire training and cross training of existing team member.
• Keep equipment clean.
• Working in hot and cold environments.
• Other various duties as directed by supervisor

Skills Required:
• Ability to handle repetitive movements i.e., climbing in and out of equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Able to multitask and deal with upset conditions within daily operation schedule.
• Able to work as a team, and support/help other workers to complete their jobs.
• Able to run equipment Hyster, Load Lifter, JD 204K and Skid Steer. Follow the operation procedures for each piece of equipment.

Experience Required:
• Experience in a sawmill is an asset

Education Required:
• No specific requirements

Wage & Hours: $ 33.59/h

• Overtime starts after how many hours: 10
• Shift rotation (as applicable): Monday to Thursday
