Job Description

PUNJAB MILK FOODS INC. is looking to hire an Industrial Mechanic for their dairy-based foods & Sweets manufacturing business. The applicant should be able to Install, align, dismantle and move industrial machinery/equipment used for our food processing facility.

Position: Industrial Mechanic

Anticipated start date: As Soon As Possible

Location: 6308 – 146th Street, Surrey. BC

Wage Rate: $45.00/hour for 40 hours a week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Education – Post secondary program in a relevant field

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a production facility is required

Job Description:

Interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals to understand how a machine is assembled
Use levels, lasers and transit tools to ensure the surface is level and the machine is perfectly positioned
Install, align, dismantle and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment
Overhaul and install new equipment
Rebuild and fabricate machinery parts
Perform facility maintenance and maintain clean and safe work area
Generate parts requests to ensure adequate inventory to ensure uninterrupted production
Generate and complete work orders and schedule regular maintenance between production shifts
Perform equipment change-overs and production line setups
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using power tools
Qualifications:

Millwright certification is required
Pre and post installation maintenance of machinery and equipment experience is required
Good knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of food processing machinery
Ability to use manual/ power tools in a safe manner.
Work Environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Must be able to work alone or in a team.
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and use aerial lifting.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Work in fluctuating hot and cold temperatures, grease and oils, and hot and cold environment (objects/surfaces/substances, humid environment, loud noise level and outside weather).
