Job Description

Crompton Brothers Automotive is seeking two experienced Senior Automotive Service Technicians for permanent, full-time employment at our Burnaby location.

Work location: 7797 Edmonds Street, Burnaby, British Columbia
Hours: 40 hours per week
Wage: $38.40 to $39 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Job duties:

·      Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors;

·      Inspect motor in operation;

·      Road test motor vehicle and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults;

·      Adjust repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drivetrain, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, electrical & electronic systems using hand tools & other specialized automotive repair equipment.

·      Test and adjust repair systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications;

·      Perform scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes, lubrication & tune ups;

·      Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements;

·      Guide apprentices

·      Language of work is English

Benefits

Extended health benefit contributions of up to:

$200 per month for individual coverage; or
$400 per month for family coverage.

Education, certification and experience

Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

Completion of a recognized Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program;
Possession of a recognized Automotive Service Technician trade certificate or equivalent qualification; or
At least 9,540 documented hours of directly related Automotive Service Technician experience sufficient to apply to SkilledTradesBC as a Trade Qualifier.
The successful applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the certification, apprenticeship registration or temporary authorization required by SkilledTradesBC to perform the duties of an Automotive Service Technician in British Columbia.

Experience

·      Extensive experience as an Automotive Service Technician or automotive mechanic

·      Experience diagnosing electrical components and auxiliary electrical systems used in emergency or first-responder vehicles
