Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dairy Farm Labourer (Milker) to join our dairy operation in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will assist with daily milking activities using a modern 40-stall rotary milking system and support general dairy farm operations. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to animal welfare, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor a 40-stall rotary milking system.
Prepare cows for milking by cleaning and inspecting udders.
Attach and remove milking equipment safely and efficiently.
Observe cows for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior and report concerns to management.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the milking parlor, equipment, and work areas.
Follow established animal welfare, biosecurity, and farm safety procedures.
Assist with moving cattle to and from the milking area.
Keep accurate records related to milking and herd health as required.
Support other dairy farm duties as assigned.
Work Schedule
7-hour shifts.
Rotating morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
Must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays.
Requirements
Previous dairy farm or livestock experience is an asset but not required; training may be provided.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal care.
Excellent physical condition and ability to perform physically demanding work.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in various weather and farm conditions.
Dependable, punctual, and willing to work a flexible schedule.
