About Candidate
Candidates will be required to:
1. Operation of Sandblasting Equipment
· Conduct a daily inspection of the area, the equipment, and tools to ensure the operation is safe and will run efficiently.
· Safely operate various types of equipment and tools such as blast pots, sandblasting tools and equipment, rust removal hand and pneumatic tools, breathing air hoods, and air compressors.
· Operate sandblasting machinery to clean or shape surfaces for further finishing by re-moving rust, paint, or other coatings.
· Handling abrasive media and high-pressure equipment
· Conduct quality inspections to ensure the product meets the quality specifications of finish.
2. Operation of Painting Equipment
· Operate specialized conventional spray systems, airless spray systems, and plural spray systems according to the operating manual to apply fi reproofing, intumescent, primer, and spray insulation materials onto steel beams and other surfaces.
· Spray with a consistent thickness, as well as apply paint with a brush and roll.
· Apply intumescent, epoxy, polyurethane, high solids coatings – cementitious, etc.
· Mixing of paints as per manufacture instructions.
· Apply masking materials to protect designated areas from paint and overspray.
3. Equipment Maintenance
· Maintain spray equipment when not pushing paint through, line and gun blockages, and general equipment troubleshooting.
· Clean and maintain blast pots to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
· Maintain the shop floor clean and organized.
· Replace worn parts such as nozzles, hoses, seals, shafts, filters, etc.
4. Safety Compliance
· Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during operations.
· Follow company safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace accidents.
· Conduct a daily inspection of the area, the equipment, and tools to ensure the operation is safe and will run efficiently.
5. Material Management
· Choose the appropriate media for the sandblasting procedure.
· Ensure a continuous supply of media for the sandblasting equipment.
6. Quality Assurance
· Inspect surfaces after blasting to ensure the required finish has been achieved.
· Report any irregularities or inconsistencies to the supervisor.
· Conduct quality inspections to ensure the product meets quality specifications of finish and coating thickness.
7. Documentation
· Maintain logs and records of work performed.
· Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
8. Team Collaboration
· Work closely with the production team to ensure timelines are met.
· Assist other team members as needed or required.

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or materials. Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
· Comfortable working in varying environmental outdoor conditions, such as heat, cold, or dust.
Work Environment: Work primarily takes place in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Noise levels may be high, and exposure to abrasive materials and paint chemicals is common.
