• Assists the Registration/Reception center manager in managing the Registration unit • Acts as the Officer-in-Charge for the Registration/Reception unit whenever the Registration Manager is not present • Conducts day-to-day supervision, direction and support to UNHCR staff engaged in registration and related activities (including Reception, Filing and Data Management staff), and monitors the efficiency and quality of registration processes, identity and entitlement documentation activities and population data management. • Assist in the implementation of registration SoPs, strategies and methodologies for populations of concern. • Conducts registration and capacity-building trainings and refreshers for the registration team (staff meetings, trainings and refreshers on different SoPs, interviewing techniques, data quality, and other Protection topics) • Is the focal point for registration-related inquiries from inside and outside Tyre FO (different IPs, UNHCR Field offices and country office). • The focal point for BIAs at the Registration unit. • The focal point for the non-Syrian cases. In charge of the daily and weekly registration reports. • Prepare the caseworkers weekly and monthly attendance, and interviews plans (on-site and teleworking) • Discuss, assess, and filter CCAs, Child protection/CBP, physical safety, and other PRT cases prior to referring them to concerned Protection colleagues. • Reviews and endorses assessments on child and adult marriages, family composition and links-assessments, undocumented assessments, nationality and COI assessments, and Civilian Character of Asylum assessments, and provide guidance to the team members accordingly. • In consultation with the Registration manager, make decisions related to the day-to-day operations of the registration unit and devise registration procedures which are efficient and effective. • Supports with oversight of the use, maintenance and technical support to ProGres (registration database) and to the Refugee Assistance Information System (RAIS) for tracking of counselling and referral activities coordinated by the registration unit. • Contributes to the development of existing and new tools responsible for enhancing the efficiency and quality of registration, counselling, referral and data management activities, and ensures that ProGres and RAIS-related data entry activities are reflected in the relevant SOPs and training modules. • In direct coordination with the Protection officer, conducts in-depth interviews for the impersonation/Fraud cases identified during the Registration and verification interviews. • Is responsible for supporting all activities related to registration and ensuring that registration is effectively used for the identification of specific protection needs, for the management of operations, and for the achievement of durable solutions. • Conduct registration interviews when required in accordance with registration standards and guidance. • Provides counselling to, and responds to queries from, asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's registration procedures and their rights and entitlements. • Maintains accurate and up-to date records and data related to all registration cases. • Identifies persons with specific needs and ensure timely referral to protection follow-up as required. • Drafts correspondence and reports relating to registration activities in the operation, when required • Provides statistics and draft reports related to registration data, as requested.

Supervise the Reception team and act as the focal point for Scheduling: Manage and update the office schedule using an in-house program for issuing and scheduling appointments for asylum seekers and refugees on daily basis where an average of 250 families/day to be scheduled for different kind of interviews: recording, verification, renewal, add-on, split, merge, and other types of appointments. Extract a daily report on the vacant and filled slots and prepare an excel sheet for the receptionists to start filling with different types of appointments. Issue different reports when requested: appointments issued (per date, type, family size, gender, comments, etc), appointments filled, vacant slots, waiting period for different types of appointments, no-show rates, etc. Receiving referrals on appointments from different units, offices, and partners. Monitor and report trends (flow, increase/decrease in appointments requests, demand on specific type of appointments, the reasons, etc.). Monitor families’ orderly entrance through hourly tours inside the rub-halls and the external gate (entrance, queues at the external gate, queues at the reception gate, vaccination queues, and seating at both waiting areas). Support the reception staff at different duty stations especially at the peak times. Open and block slots in coordination with the Registration Officer to avoid extending the waiting period. Identify vulnerable asylum-seekers and refugees inside and outside the rub-hall and fast-track their entry to the interview rooms and following up on their protection needs. Liaise with the Safety and Security Unit and report incidents, if any. Conduct protection interviews, maintain registration and counseling database and provide regular input on daily actions. Identify cases not eligible for recording through in-depth interviews and maintain updated records on progress, IA, and RAIS. Participates in continuous verification of asylum-seekers including physical verification of refugees and asylum-seekers. Counsel individual asylum-seekers and refugees to manage their expectations on protection, assistance and durable solutions; Ensure quality and integrity of information captured at recording, notably through review of the cases and follow up with respective functional units; Ensure constant and accurate upkeep of data (physical and electronic) to reflect status of persons of concern by checking that all “ProGres” data fields are filled in properly. Manage and update refugee files as necessary; Compile periodic statistical reports and circulate them to all concerned parties. Draft routine correspondence based on instructions provided by the supervisor or based on background information available on office files; Act as interpreter and translator when needed.
Identification of vulnerable asylum-seekers and refugees. Counseling and referral of cases with serious protection needs (detainees, victims of torture/violence, abuse, high profile persons, etc.) Counsel asylum-seekers and refugees on UNHCR's policies and procedures. Interview and register asylum-seekers on "ProGres" database (used for the administration of the refugee status determination process, which require an initial eligibility interview and application, follow up interview, committee review and final government approval - all of which are tracked via progress that has the capacity to issue identification cards, record addresses for refugees living outside of camps, issue voluntary repatriation forms and identify individuals with special needs like unaccompanied minors or the elderly). Identify persons with special needs (disabled persons, women and older persons at risk, single parents, unaccompanied/separated children, etc.) and appropriately channel their cases. Provide asylum-seekers and refugees with information regarding their cases. Deliver protection-related information, including RSD (Refugee Status Determination) decisions, to persons of concern. Ensure all cases are referred to proper functional units for action Schedule protection appointments (registration, resettlement, etc.) based on established scheduling criteria, and taking specific protection needs into account. Coordinate the communication between different UNHCR offices in the country and region for onward movement and multiple registrations. Ensure planning for interview rooms reflects the needs of all units’ needs.
Data collection, verification, and entry day by day using SMS (School’s Management System) for about 1600 students and more than 75 teachers. Reports to the Head Teacher and is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that operations are maintained in an effective and efficient manner. Plan and implement communications activities to inform the Palestinian communities of Nahr El Bared and Beddawi Camps about the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation-funded apprenticeship project. Touch base with community members/youth in the camps Assists in identifying graduate trainees of work based learning opportunities. Counsels graduate trainees on career path choices and assist them in preparation for apprenticeship. Assists in developing, explaining and implementing apprenticeship agreement that emphasizes both apprentice’s and entrepreneur’s responsibility to the work-based learning.
