Job Description

Balzer’s Brushing INC. is looking for 1 Painter. This position will be full time with 8 hours a day and 40 hours per week. Our office is located at 34726 Blatchford Way Abbotsford, BC.

The job duties for this position will be:

Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required
Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer
Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture
Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment
Measure, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls
Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages
Advise customer on selection of colour schemes and choice of wall coverings
Provide cost estimates to clients.

Job Requirements:

English is required as a language
High school diploma is required
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Painter required
Strong knowledge of exterior surface preparation, spraying, coatings and pressure washing.
Ability to work on high ladders up-to 40 ft without fear.
Must have tickets for both boom lift and fall protection and experience of operation boom lift up-to 105 ft.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Should not be scared of heights as you will be working on big booms, ladders and swing stages.

What we offer:

$28 per hour
4% vacation pay
