Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description

Company Profile:
We at Stone Mackay Fire protection services Inspect & Maintain: Fire Alarm Systems, Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps, Backflow, Pre-action, Hydrants, Emergency Lighting, Fire Extinguishers & Hoses, Special Suppression Systems, Kitchen hood and provide 24/7 emergency repair services. The successful candidate will perform all fire alarm, fire extinguisher and emergency light inspections and repairs.

Years of Experience Required: 1 year to less than 2 years
Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Hours per week: 30 – 35 hours

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Repair, Service, Installation

Responsibilities:

Inspect products to determine the requirements for repair
Install electronic equipment
Repair electronic equipment
Inspect and test electronic equipment and assemblies
Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power or specially designed tools
Diagnose and locate circuit, component and equipment faults
Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment and assemblies
Calibrate products using hand tools
Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports
Read blueprints and drawings
Provide customer service

Credentials / Certifications / Requirements:

CFAA Registered Technician (required)
FX2000 Certificate required
Working at heights training
Electrical Safety Awareness
Asbestos Awareness
WHMIS
Accessibility For Ontarians with Disabilities Act Awareness
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Electrical background is an asset
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed

Computer and technology knowledge:
Programmable logic controller (PLC)
