Position Details
Job Title: Child Care Provider – Private Home
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 35–40 hours per week
Wage: $21-$23 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Schedule:
Weekday afternoons (after school)
Weekend shifts required
Flexibility needed due to parents’ irregular work schedules
Number of Employee needed: 1
Language Requirement: English (additional languages are an asset)
Education Requirement
Minimum: Secondary school graduation
Preferred: Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or related fields
Experience Requirement
· Minimum 1 year of experience in home child care, early childhood education, or a related field
· Experience caring for school-aged children is preferred
· Must be gentle, patient, attentive, and reliable
Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsible care for an 8-year-old girl
Pick up and drop off from school and extracurricular activities
Prepare simple meals and healthy snacks for the child
Supervise daily routines and support positive behavior and emotional development
Assist with light housekeeping such as tidying, laundry, and keeping play and meal areas clean
Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence
Maintain a safe, healthy, and non-smoking home environment
Work Setting
Private household in Burnaby, BC
On-site work only; remote work is not available
Non-smoking environment
Safety & Screening Requirements
Criminal record check
Medical exam
Drug test (if required)
Valid driver’s license for child transportation
