COMPANY OVERVIEW: Maple Tree Gardening Services Ltd, located at 6248 Neville Street, Burnaby, BC V5J 2J6, is seeking one Landscape Gardening Helper (NOC 85121) for their comprehensive gardening and landscaping services. These positions are crucial in ensuring high quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, with aiming to create beautiful and healthy outdoor spaces for both residential and commercial clients.

JOB TITLE: Landscape Gardening Helper (85121)

LOCATION: Various location throughout the Lower Mainland, Burnaby, BC

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent; Full-time
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as Possible
VACANCIES: 1
WAGE: $25.00 per hour
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 35 to 40 hours/Week
WORK SETTING: A mix of outdoor and office environments.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in landscape installation and construction (gardens, lawns, soils etc.)
• Hauls or spreads topsoil, using wheelbarrow and rake
• Aerate, dethatch, and rake garden to loosen the soil
• Work with fertilizer and lime to enrich the soil
• Place plants or trees in holes and add dirt to fill holes
• Lay turf, plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees
• Water lawns, trees, and plants using portable sprinkler system, hose, or watering buckets
• Mowing and maintaining lawns, grass, shrubs, and trees in residential and commercial premises. This includes pruning/sheering shrubs and trees, weeding garden beds
• May apply garden insect spray on lawns and trees to control the disease
• Operate and maintain landscape using equipment such as lawnmowers, line trimmers, chain saws, clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, leaf blowers, and others.
• Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaping environments
• Comply to Covid-19 restrictions

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Highschool diploma is required;
• On-the-job training is provided;
• May be physically demanding; weight handling up to 23kg, attention to details, fast paced environment, organized, etc;
• Able to work independently and in a team, flexible, good time management, organizational and Interpersonal Skills;
• English language is required;
