Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job:
Supervise, lead and mentor Cultivation Team through all stages of the cannabis production: propagation, harvesting and packaging. Ensure accuracy of all Cultivation information that is collected. Provide detailed, accurate crop information to be documented in production batch records from propagation through to destruction and sale of product.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise/lead Cultivation Team including training of staff as needed re: cultivation techniques that include pruning, de-leafing, thinning, irrigation, and pest control.
Participate in the interview process and hiring of Cultivation staff.
· Identify and address all plant health issues like mold, mildew or other pest infestations. Prevent future outbreaks. *Understand the requirements of pesticide application in a cannabis cultivation facility. Oversee the compliant administration of approved pest control products
Record and track crop growth metrics (weekly crop report, climate report, fruit maturation report, production, water and nutrient history, etc.).
Maintain concise daily records and ensure documentation is accessible and organized in a compliant manner. Follow Good Documentation Practices.
Ensure that growth requirements of the plants are consistently met. Ie: lighting, growing media, nutrients, etc.
Oversee the compliant destruction of cannabis waste as per SOP’s.
· Collaborate with Quality Assurance department to ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, including records and logs.
Supervise, monitor, and enforce all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with Health Canada regulations as well as to maintain crop health and welfare.
Diligently follow and enforce SOPs related to the greenhouse operations and follow strict crop and personnel hygiene practices.
· Break down machines per guidelines to assure proper cleaning. Scrub parts using appropriate materials and chemicals. (training will be provided)
· Ensure proper use of chemicals and application of safe chemical handling practices.
· Understand, follow and maintain WHMIS procedures and regulations as required.
· Duties and Responsibilities are not limited to those listed here. Other tasks, duties and training may be required.
Qualifications:
Must be bondable – A clear criminal background check is required.
A minimum of a College Diploma is required.
Proven experience in a greenhouse or with plants and/or experience working in an environment regulated by Health Canada are considered an asset. Proven ability to adhere to the demands of Standard Operating Procedures.
Familiarity with Health Canada requirements.
Strong understanding of pest and disease management techniques.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written are required.
Previous experience with a Greenhouse Inventory system an asset.
Active Grower Pesticide Safety Certificate an asset.
Must be: willing and able to work overtime as required including weekends and evenings; be able to manage staff in a very fast-paced production environment with strong attention to detail and; be able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Working Conditions:
This role will involve working in a facility that includes Office space as well as Greenhouse space. Cement flooring throughout the building and greenhouse walkway. From time to time outdoor maintenance and cleaning will be required.
The employee may be required to work with chemicals, cleaners and disinfectants in order to meet the requirements of Health Canada regulations for a licensed Medical Cannabis Producer.
The employee will be expected to work overtime as required, including weekends and evenings. Hours of work will change seasonally and at peak times of Harvest.

This position is physically demanding requiring repetitive motions, lifting , crouching, reaching and standing for extended periods of time. Physical ability to lift up to 50lb is required.
· Vision and Hearing Requirements
The employee must have strong vision and hearing in order to perform the required tasks in order to meet Health Canada regulations.
· Psychological Demands
The employee will be expected to make quick, independent decisions when necessary; to problem solve and to be able to read and write in order to complete documentation required in this role.
