STEWART DRUGS HANNA (1984) Ltd. o/a Hanna Fresh Market at 610 2 Ave W, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0 is seeking to hire a permanent and full-time Retail Butcher qualified. Please send your resume by e-mail if you are interested.

Position: Retail Butcher
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $22.00 per hour
Working hours: 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties

·       Cut and weigh meat and fish for sale at self-serve counters or on special order from customers

·       Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat in cooking form.

·       Slice and grind meat using a grinder and a slicing machine

·       Prepare meats, fish, and shellfish for processing, cutting, etc.

·       Package and price meat products for sale

·       Make special sausages and slice cooked meats

·       Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, fish, and shellfish products, as well as standard cuts of meat and poultry.

·       Make standard cuts of meat from carcasses, sides, and quarters, and remove bones from them

·       Maintain adequate meat storage in the supermarket

·       Keep an eye on the food storage conditions on a regular basis.

·       Assess the cost, product line, and freshness of meat products according to company and customer requirements

·       Willing to work on weekend or holiday shifts

Requirements

Completion of secondary school
Min. 2 years of experience as a meat cutter or butcher
Trade certification for meat cutter or completion of related programs is an asset
