Type of Position: Permanent, full time

Job Duties:
• Interpreting welding process specifications
• Reading symbols and welding plans
• Operating manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products made of various materials and gauges of materials, including T302 & T 409 Stainless Steel, Aluminized Steel, Steel, Iron and heavy metals
• Welding parts in various directions; flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead using welding techniques such as resistance, spot or seam, MIG & TIG welding, Turntable etc.
• Performing machine set ups, changeovers and daily preventative maintenance
• Using and reading various measuring devices
• Consistently producing strong penetrated welds that are non-porous
• Maintaining and performing minor repairs on welding equipment.
• Operating metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.

Skills Required:
• Physical lifting; bending and standing required for long periods of time.
• Manual dexterity.
• Reliability, team player.
• Judgment, flexibility.

Experience Required:
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with good knowledge of TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding processes.
• Experience in resistance, spot or seam welding (very good stop / start technique) and on turntables.
• Experience in welding T304 and T409 stainless steel, aluminized steel, steel, iron and heavy metals.

Education Required:
• Secondary (high school) certificate or trade certificate or equivalent experience.

Wage & Hours: $ 26.75 / h
• Number of hours per day: 12
• Number of days per week: 3-4
• Number of hours per week: 32-48
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40 h / week
• Shift rotation: 32 hours per week (3 days x 12 hours) and 48 hours per week (4 days x 12 hours), alternately from 7 pm to 7 am.
