Title: Glazier

Type: Permanent Full Time

Availability; Day, Early morning, Overtime, Weekend

Hours per week: 30-40 hours per week

Wage rate: $35-$40 per hour

Location: Kelowna, On site

Start date: Immediate

Language: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years is required.

On Site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: At Heights, Outdoors

Work Setting: Commerical, Residential, Installation, willing to relocate, costs covered by employer

Responsibilities:

·         Determine type of glass, frames and material required

·         Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements

·         Measure, mark and cut glass

·         Position and secure panes in frame

·         Prepare tenders and quotations

·         Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products

·         Install door, window and other hardware

·         Repair glass doors and other glass structures

·         Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment

·         Transport cases of glass

·         Estimate costs and materials

·         Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages

·         Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes and other lifting equipment

Credentials

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Experience and specialization

·         Frame fabrication and installation – Spandrel panel installations and Aluminum framing members

Work conditions and physical capabilities

·         Physically demanding

·         Handling heavy loads

·         Standing for extended periods

·         Bending, crouching, kneeling
