Personal Support Worker – Home Support wanted
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Personal Support Worker – Home Support to provide one-on-one in-home support to a young adult living with severe Tourette syndrome, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, and clinical depression. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, emotional regulation, social support, medication reminders, and engagement in routines that foster wellbeing and independence. Preferred work hours are six hours per day, Monday to Friday, at the client’s residence. Live-in arrangements are not required. – Compensation: $22.00 per hour
– Work hours: 30 hours per week
– Benefit: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties
– Offer compassionate care and emotional support to clients during times of emotional hardship.
– Administer and monitor prescribed medications according to his care plan. Document and report any changes in health status or medication side effects to family members and healthcare providers.
– Offer emotional support to help the client manage the symptoms of severe Tourette syndrome, PTSD, ADHD, Anxiety, and clinical depression
– Implement strategies to reduce stress and promote emotional stability.
– Plan and engage the client in appropriate recreational activities to support his mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
– Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to his dietary needs and preferences, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
– Maintain cleanliness in the client’s personal space, including laundering his clothes and bedding, sanitizing his personal items, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
– May engage in basic household tasks like handling laundry, cleaning dishes, shopping groceries, house essentials and tidying up beds.
– Accompany the client to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other outings, providing social and emotional support during these activities.

Requirements
– Secondary school graduation is required.
– At least 7 months and up to 1 year of prior work experience is required.
– A criminal record check is mandatory for safety and security reasons.
