Job Description
About Us
XeraTech Robotics is a Canada-based company delivering innovative robotics solutions for the golf industry. Our flagship product, RoboPick (Roam-eo), has transformed operations at golf driving ranges by automating the ball-picking process, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer experience. With over 20 units deployed and hundreds of thousands of golf balls collected daily, XeraTech continues to refine its robotics technology while expanding into future applications such as grass cutting, soil measurement, irrigation, and spraying systems.
Responsibilities
- As a Robotic Technician, your main duties will include:
- Provide on-site technical support for customers, acting as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and after-sales service
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotics systems, including electrical, software, and hardware components
- Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty parts (e.g., wiring, sensors, circuit boards, motors, chassis, or communication modules)
- Conduct regular software updates and ensure smooth firmware upgrades for deployed robots
- Carry out hardware inspections and timely upgrades to extend product lifecycle and enhance system reliability
- Remotely monitor robot performance and provide real-time technical assistance to customers as needed
- Document maintenance activities, report recurring issues, and collaborate with engineering and product development teams to improve product design
- Provide customer training on safe operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of robotic systems
- Occasionally support demo installations and new product launches at customer sites.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (wiring, sensors, controllers), software troubleshooting (Linux/Windows, embedded systems, networking), and hardware assembly/repair.
- Familiarity with GPS-based navigation systems, obstacle detection sensors, and wireless communications is an asset.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and test equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments (golf courses, ranges, etc.).
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to train end-users.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Training & Career Development at XeraTech
- We believe in investing in young professionals who are passionate about robotics but may lack industry experience. Every new technician will benefit from:
- Free onboarding program (4–6 weeks): covering robot design, system operation, safety standards, and troubleshooting basics.
- Hands-on mentorship: you will be paired with a senior field technician for one-on-one guidance during your first assignments.
- Structured training modules: including electrical diagnostics, firmware upgrades, and mechanical repair.
- Continuous learning opportunities: regular workshops and manufacturer-certified training sessions.
- Clear career growth path: progress from Junior Technician → Field Technician → Senior Technician → Field Service Engineer with performance-based evaluations.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a pioneering robotics company with ambitious growth plans.
- Work on cutting-edge products that blend robotics, AI, and real-world applications.
- Opportunities to contribute feedback directly to product design and innovation.
- Competitive compensation package with travel expenses covered.
- A supportive, entrepreneurial team passionate about both golf and robotics.
