Job Description

Loli Café & Lounge is looking for a full-time experienced head chef.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.         Kitchen Management

•           Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow.

•           Supervise all kitchen staff, including cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers.

•           Schedule staff shifts and delegate tasks accordingly.

2.         Menu Planning & Development

•           Design and update seasonal menus tailored to the cafe and lounge concept.

•           Create innovative dishes, including specials and event-specific offerings.

•           Ensure menu items align with customer preferences and current food trends.

3.         Food Preparation & Quality Control

•           Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes.

•           Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and food storage.

•           Conduct regular taste tests and kitchen inspections.

4.         Inventory & Cost Control

•           Manage ordering and inventory of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.

•           Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and waste to maintain profitability.

•           Build and maintain relationships with suppliers for cost-effective purchasing.

5.         Team Leadership & Training

•           Train and mentor kitchen staff on techniques, safety, and standards.

•           Foster a positive, productive, and respectful work environment.

•           Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

6.         Collaboration & Communication

•           Coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service and customer satisfaction.

•           Liaise with management on business strategy, promotions, and feedback.

•           Assist in planning events, private dining, or special functions.

7.         Compliance & Safety

•           Enforce local health and safety regulations in the kitchen. Education, skills and experience required:

Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience
Language:

Communication skills in English

 

Education:

Secondary school graduate

 

Compensation:

$20/hour, 40 hours/week, 4% vacation pay
