Consolidated Cat Hospitals is a veterinary partnership founded by Dr. Douglas Boeckh and Dr. Susan Javinsky. Our veterinary practice, located in Ottawa, Ontario, specializes in feline care, offering crucial services including preventive care, diagnostics, and surgeries. As a local clinic, we take pride in our proficiency in feline enrichment and cat-specific medicine. With extensive experience, we deliver personalized care tailored to address the distinct needs of each cat.

We are currently in search of a veterinary to primarily serve at our Merivale location, with occasional work required at the Bytown location as needed.

Employment Conditions

Position: Veterinary (TEER – 31103)

Languages: English

Education: Degree in veterinary medicine

Work Setting:

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years – working for a clinic or managing own clinic

Work Location(s):
Primary Work Location – Merivale Cat Hospital – 1038 Merivale Rd., Ottawa, ON K1Z 6A7
Secondary Work Location (only when needed): Bytown Cat Hospital – 422 McArthur Ave., Ottawa, ON K1K 1G6

Duration: Term/Contractual for 24 months – Full-Time

Starting date: As soon as possible

Weekly Schedule: 32 to 40 hours per week – Day, Night, Weekend (must be flexible to work schedule)

Salary: $67.00 to $70.00 per hour – to be negotiated based on experience and education
Overtime pay will be based on Ontario’s Employment Standards Act – after 44 hours

Tasks:
Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual cats through physical examinations or laboratory tests
Treat sick or injured cats by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
Vaccinate cats to prevent and treat diseases
Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of cats
Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
Answer to the Senior Veterinarian’s supervision

Credentials:
Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities – at least a restricted license

With a restricted license, the employee will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Veterinarian.

Continuing Education: Every 24 months, the Employee is entitled to a continuing education allowance of $1,500 and three paid days to attend a veterinary conference. The Employer will arrange flight and hotel reservations.
