Type of Position: Permanent, full-time

Job Duties:
• General and/or finishing carpentry duties as assigned.
• Quality control of the assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Task execution in an efficient, safe, and profitable manner.
• Direction to carpenter helpers and labourer.
• Mentorship of junior employees.
• Communication with crew foreman and/or supervisor.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.

Skills Required:
• Rough framing skills
• Sound knowledge of all aspects of residential construction
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to communicate effectively in plain terms
• Must be able to obtain driver’s license

Experience Required:
• 3 to 5 years of experience.

Education Required:
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience.

Wage & Hours: $30.00 / h
• Number of hours per day: 8.5 – 9.5
(Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday: 7:30am-4:00pm)
• Number of days per week: 5 days
• Number of hours per week: 46.5 hours
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 44 hours (2.5 hours of overtime/week)
