Job Duties:

Crane Operator will be working at Sawmill Department.

• Using crane by remote, half stacks are to be strapped and loaded onto kiln carts to be dried.
• Circle check equipment daily before shift. Ensure all equipment is operationally functioning. Report any problems immediately to Supervisor.
• Attach identifying labels to front and side of each bundle.
• Spray paint dimension of each bundle on front.
• Make sure area is free of tripping hazards and that tracks are clean and free of debris in your area.
• Strap each stack with green strapping to prevent pieces from falling off.
• Ensure there is adequate strapping and cants in your area, and replace when empty.
• Ensure tools and equipment are in safe and good working order.
• Assist in jams to help minimize downtime.
• Housekeeping.
• All PPE must be used at all times including safety vest.
• Carts must be oiled daily and ones in need of repair removed from service. Please advise your Supervisor of these carts.

• Previous experience at sawmill is an asset

• Secondary school certificate

Wage & Hours: $ 31.15
• Number of hours per day: 10
• Number of days per week: 4
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
• Shift rotation: One week days, one week nights 7:00-5:30
