Job Duties:

Planer Infeed Operator will be working at Planer Department.

• Responsible for the Safe and Productive operation of the Planer infeed.
• Flip boards according to quality standards, bad side up & defects to the right.
• Always keep chains full.
• Communicate with unstacker operator.
• Responsible for correcting all alarms.
• Will complete and maintain down time reports.
• Responsible for all planed lumber exiting the planer.
• Responsible to perform any preventative or operational maintenance within your capabilities.
• Housekeeping
• Keep area clean and clear of debris during production.
• Cut any defective boards to size that are on the floor.
• Clean under angle chains and far side of angle chains.
• Once done, go and help under planer infeed.

Skills Required:
• Will have a working knowledge of the Pro Grader/Autolog system.
• Will have working knowledge of all alarms for the Pro Grader and sorter line.
• Attention to details
• Fast-paced environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of team and independently

Experience Required:
• Previous experience at sawmill is an asset

Education Required:
• Secondary school certificate

Wage & Hours: $ 32.45
• Number of hours per day: 10
• Number of days per week: 4
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
• Shift rotation (as applicable): One week days, one week nights 7:00-5:30
