Experience: 1 to less than 2 years
Work location: On site only (no remote option)
Responsibilities
As a Construction Estimator, you will:
Prepare cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, expenses, and overheads.
Project cash flow, financing needs, and expenditure forecasts.
Prepare and submit detailed estimates, reports, and bid documents.
Advise on tendering procedures, analyze tenders, and recommend contract awards.
Set up, monitor, and report on cost control systems.
Maintain directories of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to gather and validate information for estimates.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and adjust cost estimates as required.
Assist in preparing estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $1,000 to $10M+.
Create, monitor, and report on project costs to ensure budget compliance.
Review and follow up on shop drawings, RFIs, purchase orders, change orders, and related project documentation (as it impacts cost estimating).
