Description of Company: Purrdy Paws is a luxury grooming spa located in the city of Ottawa that provides pet
grooming services for both cats and dogs. Our goal is to bring the best in care to our client’s furry family
members. We provide a range of services at our spa and through our mobile grooming unit. These services
include nail trimming, bathing, blow drying, combing, styling, ear cleaning, flea treatments, show clipping, and
teeth cleaning, among others.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:

• Setting up the salon for the day, which includes sanitizing the workspace and preparing grooming
  products for use.
• Explaining services to clients and recommending products and food selections for sale.
• Providing grooming services for dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds, including nail trimming,
  shampooing/bathing, blow drying, combing out, and hairstyling.
• Offering additional services such as ear cleaning, flea baths, show clipping, and teeth cleaning.
• Demonstrating a solid understanding of performing breed-specific trims on dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Utilizing a variety of products and tools to deliver grooming services.
• Making decisions about hairstyles based on the pet’s hair type.
• Recording detailed notes about the services provided, style of haircut, as well as the health and behavior
  of the animal.
• Communicating any concerns regarding the pets to supervisor or management.
• Handling payments for services when necessary.
• Cleaning and disinfecting tools, equipment, and workspace.
• Performing closing store tasks including cleaning, safety checks, and locking the salon.

Hours of Work Per Week: 30 hours

Credential/Skill Requirements:

• Secondary school diploma
• Completion of a pet grooming or hair styling certification course (pet grooming preferred)
• At least 3-5 years of hands-on grooming experience
