College, CEGEP or other non university certificate or diploma of 3 months to 1 year

Work environment

Work in employer’s home.  Live in preferred (not a condition of employment) Free room provided

 

Responsibilities

·       Administer personal care

·       Administer medications

·       Assist with bathing and all aspects of personal hygiene

·       Change dressings

·       Assist in feeding

·       Launder clothing and household linens – keeps a clean environment

·       Provide companionship

·       Prepare and cook nutritious meals

 

Security and safety

·       Criminal record check

·       Immunization records

 

Work Conditions and Personal suitability

·       Bending, crouching, kneeling, walking

·       Handling heavy loads  – up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
