Job Description: Marine Mechanical Repair Technician

Job Overview

We seek a skilled Marine Mechanical Technician to repair and service marine engines and vessels. The role involves working on both land and water.

Responsibilities

Test and ensure the proper performance of marine engines.
Examine and troubleshoot electrical systems.
Undertake minor repairs of marine engines.
Repair or replace damaged/worn-out engine components.
Maintain accurate and detailed service records.
Analyze motor performance and identify malfunctions.
Work on the dock in marinas to inspect vessels.
Operate vessels on sea trials.
Perform scheduled maintenance on marine equipment.
Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements

Two – three years of work experience in a related/ similar position.
Completion of Secondary (high) school is required .  Any related degree or diploma in mechanical would be an asset.
Technical and mechanical skills.
Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
Computer skills: Proficiency in diagnostics and basic office applications like MS Word and Excel.
Good communication skills.

Performance-Based Bonuses

Bonuses range from $5,000 to $10,000 annually per technician and are based on team and individual performance tied to profit from labour. Bonuses are paid in two stages: half on December 31st and half on June 30th.
