Job Duties

• Examine, measure, and prepare floors, walls, and other surfaces to ensure proper layout, adhesion, and long-term durability.
• Install and secure underlayment systems, waterproofing membranes, crack isolation systems, and other preparation materials required for tile installations.
• Mix, prepare, and apply mortar, thin-set, adhesives, cementitious compounds, and grout using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Lay, align, level, and secure ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, marble, granite, natural stone, and large-format tiles, ensuring precise alignment, uniform spacing, and a high-quality finish.
• Cut and shape tiles to fit around fixtures, corners, drains, and other structural features using manual and powered cutting equipment.
• Construct and waterproof custom shower systems, including slope formation and drainage integration.
• Install decorative mosaic patterns and specialty tile designs for residential and commercial projects.
• Install, finish, polish, and seal marble, granite, terrazzo, and other natural stone surfaces as required.
• Remove and replace cracked, damaged, or defective tiles and restore affected surfaces.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout plans to complete installations accurately and independently.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety procedures.

Employment Requirements

• Completion of secondary school.
• At least 4 years of related work experience, or completion of a tilesetting apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship training and work experience.
• Experience installing ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, marble, granite, natural stone, and large-format tile.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing repetitive manual work.
