𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲: 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆-𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝟲:𝟯𝟬 𝗮.𝗺. Regular shifts will consist of 5 days per week, including 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔.  Two days off will be provided during the week, and specific daily hours will be arranged flexibly according to the household routine.

We are a private household in Richmond Hill 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿, born in October 2023, who 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆.

The caregiver will provide attentive 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗻-𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 in a safe, nurturing environment and follow a structured daily routine that supports the child’s social, emotional, and verbal development in a bilingual Cantonese-English home environment.

𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐍𝐎𝐂 𝟒𝟒𝟏𝟎𝟎)

• Provide attentive, one-on-one care for a toddler with a moderate expressive language delay in the employer’s private home.
•  Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the child; assist with feeding and dietary routines.
•  Maintain and assist with a structured daily routine, including supporting nap schedules, bathing, dressing, and toileting as age-appropriate.
•  Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment within the home.
•  Perform light housekeeping duties strictly related to childcare, including laundering the child’s clothes, tidying play areas, and washing dishes used for meals.
•  Plan and supervise age-appropriate play, reading, songs, outdoor activities, and guided interaction, while reinforcing daily language-support routines through verbal modelling, repetition, simple phrases, and communication opportunities during play, meals, and other daily activities.
• Follow the parents’ instructions and guidance from the child’s Speech-Language Pathologist by reinforcing daily communication routines that support the child’s social, emotional, and verbal development.
• Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child’s daily routine, activities, and progress.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

• At least one year of paid, one-on-one child-care experience as a caregiver or nanny in a private-home setting.
• Some secondary school education; no degree, certificate or diploma required.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Strong work ethic, honesty, reliability, and respect for the family’s privacy and household rules.
• Ability to follow structured parental and professional communication-support routines and to provide patient, consistent one-on-one care that supports a toddler’s expressive language development.
• Previous experience supporting young children with speech or language delays is an asset.
•  CPR / First Aid training (asset but not required)
• Familiarity with Cantonese is an asset, but not a requirement.

• Non-smoking, child-focused private home environment.
•  Physical tasks include walking, standing, bending, and light lifting associated with toddler care.
•  Ability to handle a busy household environment efficiently.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬

•  Two weeks of vacation time per year, with vacation pay in accordance with Ontario employment standards.
• Overtime compensation paid in strict accordance with Ontario Employment Standards laws.
