Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Floor Layer to join our team. As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials in residential and commercial settings. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Duties:
– Measure and prepare the area for flooring installation
– Remove existing flooring materials if necessary
– Install various types of flooring materials, such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, and tile
– Use hand tools and power tools to cut and shape flooring materials
– Apply adhesive, nails, or staples to secure flooring materials in place
– Ensure proper alignment and smooth installation of flooring materials
– Trim and finish edges of flooring materials as needed
– Clean up work area and dispose of debris properly

Skills:
– Experience in floor covering related work
– Knowledge of different types of flooring materials and installation techniques
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints or floor plans
– Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for cutting and shaping flooring materials
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
– Excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues during installation
– Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing gaps between flooring materials
– Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods

Expected hours: 30 – 44 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Overtime, Weekends as needed

Experience

flooring installation: 1 year (preferred)
tile setting: 1 year (preferred)
