Job Position: Ocean Freight Coordinator (NOC 13201)

Wage: $26.44 per hour

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent full time

Employment Starting Date: As soon as possible

Benefits: Group Insurance Benefits after 6 months employment

Education Requirement: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in business/commerce or supply chain management

Experience Requirement: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Setting: Freight forwarding

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Compile orders and instructions received from customers
  • Oversee operational logistics of the organization
  • Track and complete work orders
  • Monitor movement of supplies and materials between departments
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  • Provide customer service
  • Follow-up on issues with work orders
  • Keep track of shipments
  • Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices
  • Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Monitor ocean import and export shipments, follow-up, tracking and tracing, problem identification and timely resolution
  • Interact with customers on phone, provide shipment status, customs regulations and procedures
  • Build close, strong relationships with all our customers, overseas agents and service providers
  • Complete processing of all documentation required including invoicing and import declaration if required
  • Conduct research and analysis of routes using historical data, reports and reviews
  • Day to day operations to include dealing with customers, customs clearance & other reports and administration duties
  • Ensure all quality control procedures are updated and adhered to
