Job Description

Position Summary:  The material handler performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines.

Salary: $21.16 per hour plus incremental wage increases

Hours of work: 40 hours per week.

Overtime: Eligible for overtime per company overtime policy

Education: Grade 12 or GED is preferred

Skills/Experience:

·       Strong computer knowledge

·       Great Plains (GP) knowledge

·       Handles tasks from at least one more department without supervision

·       Ability to lift and handle heavier items (may operate a forklift)

·       A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience

Duties & Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):

·       Consolidate items in stock

·       Put parts away

·       Bin audit counts

·       Follow procedures for any material movement

·       Communicate daily tasks with Inventory Control

·       Picking part requisitions and Manufacturing Orders (MOs)

·       Ticket creation for variance transactions

·       Ensure required approvals are obtained for material transactions

·       Follow the warehouse safety guidelines

·       Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) & Moisture Sensitive Level (MSL) handling

·       Review & maintain work instructions

·       Package up outbound materials for sales orders

·       Ensure aisles, shelves and bins are kept clean and organized

·       Continuous improvement on materials handling process

·       Verify and receive finished goods

·       Bi-weekly checks of Warehouse Management Inventory (WMI) material

·       Report any issues to Inventory Control and warehouse manager

·       Back up other departments when coverage is needed (Receiving and Shipping)
