Job Description

Position: Slaughterer

Employer: Mount Brydges Abattoir Limited

Job Location: 21618 Adelaide Road, Mount Brydges, ON NOL 1W0

Vacancies:  2 vacancies

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time

Employment conditions: Days, weekend

Hourly Wage: $22.00 per hour/ 40 hours per week

Languages: English

Anticipated start date: (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Onsite: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work Setting: Meat processing facility

Work site environment: Hot, cold/refrigerated

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Work under pressure, Bending, Crouching and Kneeling, standing for extended periods, lifting, cold temperatures, hot temperatures

Personal Suitability: Accurate

Tasks:

·      Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses

·      Slaughter cattle, calves, and sheep as prescribed by religious laws

·      Cut beef, lamb, pork or veal carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging

·      Cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use

·      Remove bones from meat
