Olive Green Investments Inc. operating as Canadian Tire Associate Store #443, Surrey (Newton) is a retail store focusing on retail sales, automotive products, hardware, sport and leisure goods and has a fully operated Automotive Service Centre, located at 7599 King George Blvd, Surrey, British Columbia, V3W 5A8, has a full time and permanent vacancy for 1 (one) Automotive Service Technician.

Duties

·      Diagnose, inspect and perform accurately all phases of vehicle equipment repairs under minimal supervision
·      Repairs or replacements on various vehicle systems which include brakes, engine tune ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, electrical system and other parts and components of automotive system
·      Perform thorough diagnosis and repairs on the heating system
·      Remove, overhaul, and reinstall mechanical components
·      Routine maintenance on brakes, tires, oil, filters and batteries
·      Replacement of worn/damaged components which include water pumps, manifolds, starters, alternators, drive belts and ensure safety and functionality
·      Conduct thorough test drives of repaired vehicles before signing off on job cards
·      Advise clients on vehicle condition prior to work and after repairs
·      Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately
·      Maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used
·      Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required
·      Communicate with clients on work performed, update on vehicle condition and if future repairs are needed
·      Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Service Supervisor
·      Workplace language is English and need to be able to communicate with team members both written and verbal

Requirements

·      Qualified Automotive Mechanic from any jurisdiction or eligible to challenge the trade in British Columbia
·      Several working experience as an automotive service technician
·      Valid driver’s license
·      Knowledge of Star diagnostic tool preferred but not required

Wage

·      30 – 40 normal hours per week, which include weekends.
·      Working days will be 5 days a week (Fridays to Tuesdays)
·      Hours will be from 9am – 6pm which include a 1-hour unpaid lunch time
·      Compensation will be $35.00 per hour
·      Overtime will be paid after 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
