Drafting Technologist (AutoCAD Shoring & Formwork)
Atlas Scaffolding is a shoring, formwork and scaffold supply company located in Surrey, serving BC’s construction and building industry since 1996. We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals with formwork detailing experience to work as a member of our drafting team.
As a valued member of the team, you would be generating engineering designs, drawings and additional technical information for use in the construction of shoring and formwork equipment.
The ideal candidates will have strong computer skills, specifically with AutoCAD, as well as demonstrate an ability to work equally as a team or independently. This role will be directly supporting the engineering team. A strong attention to detail and organizational skills are equally important in the functioning of the department.
Salary: $35.00 to 40.00 per hour

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience & AutoCAD certification
Experience: 3 to 4 years experience

Key Responsibilities:
Develop AutoCAD drawings for formwork and shoring based on project specifications and engineering input.
Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and components needed for shoring and wall form projects.
Collaborate with senior engineers to understand design requirements and assist in developing design concepts and solutions.
Ensure designs are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with safety regulations.
Prepare, update, and maintain project documentation, including drawings and reports.
Review drawings for accuracy before submission, ensuring they meet industry standards and company protocols.
Implement changes and updates to existing drawings as required throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain an organized filing system for project drawings and documentation, including updates in the Atlas filing system.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and the ability to implement feedback and instructions.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and large amounts of information.
Knowledge of shoring and scaffold equipment (preferred).
Qualification and experience:
Diploma or degree in engineering or construction-related field
Proficient in AutoCAD and general computer skills, such as Microsoft Office
Minimum 3 years of experience in shoring, formwork, architectural or structural design
Scaffolding/formwork site or office experience – Required
Shoring/formwork/scaffolding equipment knowledge (an asset)
Knowledge of shoring or scaffold equipment is desirable.
