Job Description:
1. The ECE Assistant works with the ECE Instructor to develop and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children aged 30 months to 5 years.
2. Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, preparing crafts, and taking children to local points of interest.
3. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
4. Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
5. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
6. Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
7. Discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
8. Maintain daycare equipment.
9. Adhere to licensing policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum secondary school graduation.
2. A valid BC Early Childhood Education Assistant certificate.
3. Must be 19 years of age or older.
4. A valid criminal record check clearance since 18 years old.
5. Medical exam needed.
