Job Description
Tap and Barrel South Surrey Ltd. is looking for 1 full-time Sous-Chef at 3211 152 St suite 207 Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 3M1. (Even though this is a full-time position we encourage part-time job seekers to apply as well). Salary is 25/hr and 40 hours/week.
Main Duties:
Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, sandwiches and fish dishes, and etc.
Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
Create new recipes.
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
May plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies.
May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
May requisition food and kitchen supplies.
Requirement:
Completion of secondary school is usually required. Sous-chefs, usually require two or three years of experience in commercial food preparation.
