Job details: 

·         Location: At employer’s home near Tyee Lake in Telkwa, BC.

·        Salary: $25 hourly for 32-35 hours per week.

·         Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-Time.

·         Start date: As soon as possible.

Job requirements and details

Credentials: First aid and CPR.

Person needing care: Female, in her late 60s with advanced dementia.

Schedule: Monday to Friday; Weekends, early mornings or evenings as needed.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker – Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to a female with advanced dementia in our home close to Tyee Lake in Telkwa, BC. The person needing care has a loving and caring family and lives in a clean beautiful home, but additional help to care for her is needed.

Your main duties will be as following:

·       Provide care and companionship.

·       Help getting her out of bed.

·       Administer bedside and personal care.

·       Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, dressing and undressing if necessary.

·       Plan and prepare meals and special diets, putting food in front of her, and feed or assist in feeding as needed.

·       May perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications.

·       May perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes, make beds or shop for food and household supplies.

·       Accompany the person needing care to outings and medical appointments.

·       Assume full responsibility for the person needing care and the household in absence of the employer. Be with her and make sure she does not leave the house alone.

Security and Safety: Criminal record check; Reference required.

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, and scent free, no use of social media when engaging with the person needing care.

Transportation/Travel Information: have your own transportation

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s home.
