Job Description
ob Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Scene Designer Assistant to join our team. As a Scene Designer Assistant, you will work closely with our design team to assist in the creation and development of various design projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about design and looking to gain hands-on experience in a creative environment.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Scene Designer:
Assist the lead scene designer in conceptualizing and visualizing set designs.
Help with research and development of design ideas.
Material and Resource Management:
Source materials and props required for set construction.
Maintain an inventory of design materials and tools.
Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for set designs.
Construction and Installation Support:
Work with the construction team to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
Assist in the assembly and installation of sets on location or in studio settings.
Monitor the construction process to ensure adherence to the design specifications.
Collaboration and Communication:
Liaise with other departments (e.g., production, lighting, costume) to ensure cohesive integration of set designs.
Attend production meetings and contribute to discussions on design and functionality.
Communicate effectively with the lead designer and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
On-Set Assistance:
Provide on-set support during filming or live events to make adjustments or repairs to the set as needed.
Ensure sets are properly maintained and organized during production.
Documentation and Archiving:
Document the design process and maintain records of all designs, drawings, and modifications.
Archive completed projects for future reference and company records.
General Administrative Tasks:
Handle administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing files related to set design projects.
Assist in coordinating logistics for set production and transport.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.50-$25.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 44 per week
Schedule:Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience in scene design or production design, even in a smaller capacity, is highly valued
Experience working on a variety of productions (theater, film, TV, events) can be advantageous
Creative ability, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
