Job Description
The family seeks a motivated, kind, patient, caring home support worker for their elderly mother. You will work from the mother’s home which is close to Eglington/Don Mills Road. The proposed wage ranges from $19 to $21 per hour, with a 35-hour work week. Due to fall risk, candidates must be able to work overnight shifts.
Some of the regular tasks and responsibilities include:
- administering bedside and personal care
- assisting with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- assisting with regular exercises, ex: walk
- assisting with feeding
- laundering clothing and household linens
- performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- assisting with prepping and cooking East Indian and East African cuisine
- preparing and serving nutritious meals
- providing companionship
- shopping for food and household supplies
- accompanying the client to appointments and social outings
- performing other duties related to personal care
Note: preference will be given to candidates who can work overnight shifts and those who know how to cook East African and East Indian foods.
