We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Fish Plant Worker.
Job Description
- Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
- Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets and remove scrap parts using a knife.
- Check fish fillets to determine the appropriate number and size of fillet sections.
- Cut sections according to specifications and place them in containers for weighing.
- Sort and prepare fish and seafood products for processing and packaging.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures.
- Perform other related fish processing duties as required.
The core cutting, cleaning, filleting and portioning duties are consistent with the previous Fish Plant Worker advertisement.
Requirements
- Related experience is preferred.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and physical work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and able to follow workplace safety and food handling procedures.
- As with the previous advertisement, related experience is preferred rather than mandatory, and on-the-job training will be provided.
Employment Conditions
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Vacation: 2 weeks of paid vacation or 4% vacation pay
The vacation provision follows the previous posting.
