Job Description

A Property Accountant is needed to accommodate the rapid growth and oncoming new business of a local property management company. This is a great opportunity for someone to demonstrate and build on their accounting skills in a Company that offers a wide range of growth.(Senior Position)

Type of employment: Permanent Full-time

Schedule:32.5 hours per week

Start Date: As Soon as possible

Salary: 37-38.5 CAD per hour, 32.5 hours per week

Responsibilities include:

·       Full cycle financial statement preparation for a portfolio of buildings

·       Preparation of supporting working papers

·       Work collaboratively with Property Managers, Council Members and a very strong accounting team

·       Year-end budget and audit preparation

·       GST filing preparation

·       CAM Reconciliations

·       Cost Sharing Reconciliations

·       Liaison with auditors and bankers

 

Requirements:

·       A degree in accounting or CPA designation

·       Minimum 2 years of property accounting experience

·       Experience with restricted fund accounting

·       Experience with residential and commercial rental lease accounting

·       Experience with completing CAM reconciliations

·       Familiarity with the Strata Property Act

·       Knowledge of trust fund accounting

·       Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written

·       Ability to attend meetings and present information in a clear and concise manner

·       Must have an excellent attention to detail and be able to decipher complex cost sharing issues

·       Has a ‘do what it takes’ attitude to meet tight deadlines and be a contributing member in team environment

·       Ability to learn multiple software

·       Intermediate to advanced excel skills required

·       Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

·       An open and understanding disposition with an interest in learning
