Position: Caregiver (NOC 44101 – Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations)
Location of Work: Victoria, BC
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (30-40 hours per week)
Language of Work: English
Wage: $22 per hour
Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated, patient, and kind-hearted caregiver to provide personal care and companionship to a senior in their 90s. The ideal candidate should be compassionate and attentive, able to assist with daily tasks while ensuring the individual’s comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare meals and assist with feeding, following any special dietary requirements
Support with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other personal hygiene needs
Provide medication reminders and assist with administering routine medications as directed by doctors
Help with toileting and provide physical support during transfers between bed and wheelchair
Able to provide overnight supervision and hands-on care, as needed
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, bed-making, and tidying common areas
Monitor client’s health status and report any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals
Provide companionship and support throughout daily routines and activities
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous caregiving experience is an asset, but not required – training will be provided
Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with seniors and their families
A genuine desire to care for and support others
Basic knowledge of meal preparation, including adapting to various dietary needs
