We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our growing culinary team. If you have a strong background in food preparation and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring top quality and presentation in accordance with the restaurant’s established recipes and menu guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in meal preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Prepare and cook special sushi items for customers with dietary restrictions or special requests, under the direction of the sushi chef.
- Follow all food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory and assist in ordering food supplies when needed.
- Supervise and support kitchen helpers to maintain effective kitchen operations.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Proven experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting. Minimum one year of direct sushi preparation experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- A valid Foodsafe Certificate.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
- High attention to detail, particularly with food presentation and cleanliness.
- Ability to adapt to menu changes and special dietary requirements.
- Capable of working well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
