1-2 years of experience in plastic manufacturing, preferably in a plastic blow moulding environment
Company Overview:
We are a plastic blow moulding manufacturing company located in Vaughan, Ontario specializing in the production of plastic containers and components. We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to support tooling fabrication, repair, and maintenance for our blow moulding production operations.
Job Duties:
• Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of workpieces
• Inspect final products, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders
• Test prototypes and production tools
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Program CNC machine tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
• Realize machine castings to make metal molds, core boxes and precisely shaped models
• Lay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
. Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
. Fit, assemble, and test moulds, dies, jigs, and fixtures using hand and power tools
. Repair, maintain, and modify existing blow moulds and tooling used in plastic blow moulding operations
. Maintain records of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
. Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
. Assist with preventative maintenance and improvements of moulds used in blow moulding production
. Experience working with CyFrame computer software
