Job Description
Employer Name: Chebogue Livestock Ltd.
Position Title: Industrial Meat Cutter
Number of Positions Available: 1
Start date: Starts as soon as possible.
Term of Employment: Permanent Position – 35-45 hours per week
Schedule: Set schedule with adjustments required during peak processing times. Typical schedule during non-peak times would be 8AM – 5PM Mon-Fri.
Location of Work: 1008 Chebogue Rd., Central Chebogue NS B5A 5G1
Wage: $20 per hour
Language Requirements: English
Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Formal training in meat cutting/butchering an asset but not required.
Work experience/Essential Skills: 1 year minimum prior experience as a butcher in an industrial setting or experience as a meat cutter in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities:
· Cut beef carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging.
· Remove bones from meat.
· Cut meat into specific cuts for commercial, or wholesale use.
· Remove skin, excess fat, bruises or other blemishes from carcasses or meat portions.
· During non-peak times, responsibilities may also include:
· Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knives.
· Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
