Job Overview:
BCD TRANSPORT INC. is a well-established Freight/Transportation company located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are currently seeking 5 Long Haul Truck Drivers (NOC 73300) to join our team. The role involves long-distance travel and the safe transportation of goods and materials across various locations.
Education & Experience:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Will train
Work Environment:
On the Road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
Shift Types: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Overtime, Shift, Weekend
Responsibilities:
Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions
Deliver professionalism in customer service
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Load and unload goods safely
Obtain special permits and documents required for international cargo routes
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for material transportation
Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
Perform preventive maintenance
Communicate and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
Ensure proper tarping, safety, and security of cargo
Credentials:
AZ Class License
Air Brakes Endorsement
Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
