Position: Child Caregiver/Nanny (NOC 44100 Home child care providers)

Location of Work: Victoria, BC

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (atleast 30 hours per week)

Language of Work: English

Wage: $21/hr

Position Summary

We are a welcoming family in Victoria looking for a caring, responsible, and patient nanny to help care for our two daughters, aged 2 and 9. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of different ages and can create a safe, positive, and engaging environment.

You will play an important role in supporting our children’s daily routines, development, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for children in a safe and attentive manner
  • Bathe, dress, and assist children with daily routines
  • Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks
  • Prepare bottles/formula and change diapers for the younger child
  • Plan and engage children in age-appropriate activities (reading, crafts, playtime, outdoor activities)
  • Take children to and from school, daycare, and appointments as needed
  • Help with homework and encourage learning
  • Support children’s emotional well-being and guide behavior based on parents’ approach
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, including light housekeeping around the house
  • Shop for groceries and household supplies when required
  • Prepare children for naps and bedtime routines
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence, when needed

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience caring for infants or young children is an asset, but not required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Patient, kind, and attentive with a genuine love for working with children
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage time and multitask effectively
  • Creative and engaging with children (e.g., games, storytelling, activities)
  • Basic cooking skills and knowledge of healthy meal preparation
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
