Job Description

The Grizz Hotel, located at 200 3 ST W Revelstoke, is looking for a cook to work in the kitchen of our hotel. This will be a full time permanent position with at least 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.

Job duties:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare and cook special meals for guests as requested
Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Set up and oversee buffets
Clean kitchen and work area
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
May hire and train kitchen staff as needed

What we offer:

Full-time, permanent employment (30–40 hours per week).
Competitive wages of $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
4% vacation pay

Requirements:

Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Cook or Line Cook in a hotel, restaurant, café, resort, or commercial kitchen.
English is required
Completion of high school is required
Experience preparing breakfast items is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures.
Food Safe Level 1 Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
